The better ones have loads of atmosphere, often helped by shooting in real castles or mansions, and often have a startling and beautiful mix of horror and erotica, often in the same scene. A bit less chaste at times then their Italian counterparts.

What makes Spanish horror work for you, and can this particular style of movie still work in today's world. Do you think it can still be effective?
