I just downloaded something I never heard of but looks enticing, Mino Guerrini's THE THIRD EYE, with Helga Line and Franco Nero.
The film was remade by Joe D'Amato as BEYOND THE DARKNESS! Never dubbed into English, this AVI file is in Italiam with burned in English subs from a TV broadcast and quality is reportedly low ( and there is a German DVD with no English option, that also looks bad but better than this TV broadcast ). I've really only heard about this film while searching through imdb. Looks like a pretty rare one. Has anyone seen it? Just trying to find out if its worth tracking down. I saw that Video Search of Miami has a print but I dont know of anywhere else.

PYSCHOUT FOR MURDER is pretty rare, the only VHS release I know of is from Alpha Blue. This thriller mixes in some giallo elements, Italian sex tease material and also has a slight BELL FROM HELL vibe to it. It has a unique feel to it and is very entertaining, right down to the low key but effective finale.
The biggest surprise here is Adrienne Larussa, who would have a far more serious role as the title character in Fulci's BEATRICE CINCI. Her characetr here is over the top but...

Tim L. has posted on his blog that BS is scheduled to be on Monsters HD this Summer. Pretty cool, but who the hell has Monsters HD? But, perhaps this means Dark Sky will release it in a while -- but hopefully done correctly.

As mentioned in another thread, French dvd company Seven is releasing CASTLE OF BLOOD (as DANSE MACABRE) and AN ANGEL FOR SATAN (as UN ANGE POUR SATAN) in May.

The releases are not English friendly, but both contain the original Italian soundtracks as well as the French audio/subtitle option.

I learned late last night/early this morning that MGM no longer has the AIP rights for these two Bava films, and likely all of the others -- besides PLANET OF THE VAMPIRE it seems -- at this point from Gary T. (who posts at the Midnite Movies Yahoo group). I wonder if Alfred Leone is going to pounce on these and get them out on dvd sooner (rather than later). Could be interesting to see how this plays out.

I tried doing a search here, but couldn't dig anything up. I've been wondering about this flick released by Dark Sky last year or the year before. Some reviews seem to say it's ok, but no great shakes. Anyone here pick it up and have an opinion on it?

Finally broke down and opened an Alpha DVD of this I had sitting around gathering dust -- Not a bad film but the runtime is only 72 minutes, is there a more complete version kicking around anywhere?

Also just for the record I'd always though that ATOM AGE VAMPIRE and I VAMPIRI were the same movie, which is why I hadn't ever opened the Alpha. Much to my delight they are not.

All of the TV commercials for "I Am Legend" put me in the mood to see the Vincent Price original version of I am Legend, "The Last Man on Earth". So, last night I poured myself an adult beverage and settled in to revisit this classic horror.

You know, it still gives me the creeps. I love this film. I think it's a minor classic in the genre. Too bad it isn't being released on the big screen! I would pay top price to see that one!
