I would recommen Tradicones y Leyendas de la Colonia comic which deal much more with classic kind of Horror... Your know ghost, cemeteries, ruined churches and old haunted houses, while el Monje Loco has more to do with modern elements of horror.

A series of 6 Monje Loco shorts were made in the early '40s; 4 were apparently assembled into a feature film. These featured the creator of the character (from the 1930s radio show), Salvador Carrasco. Probably a "lost" film, but who knows for sure.

I have been unable to specifically date the direct-to-video "Monje Loco" movie (which I have), but it's probably late 1980s (EDIT: I see IMDB has 1984, for what it's worth). Stars Julio Augurio and Julio Aldama...

El Monje Loco puts in two appearances in LEYENDAS MACABRAS DE LA COLONIA.He is playing an organ and acting as a narrator of sorts to the action though why they did it is beyond me since the story is easy to follow.Perhaps the filmmakers were showing their sense of humor.Or they were trying to pad the film even more and believe me the film is padded out plenty!

Hey pretty cool clip, I've never seen any of EL Monje Loco comics before I do recall there was a movie in the 1980's titled EL MONJE LOCO but I never seen it and I wonder if this had anything to do with the comic book series.
