Posts: 693 (05/19/08 20:32:33) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None the hollywood reporter says that Romero's Dawn Of The Dead is in the process of being 3D-ized for a theatrical re-release! now, when i think of films that would look good in 3D i don't automatically think Dawn of the Dead but i'll be damned if that doesn't sound like a good idea. i hope this pans out, cuz my last "zombie movie in 3D" experience wasn't all that great... i'm looking at you Night Of The Living De3D Conversion of legacy material using the process starts at about $50,000 per minute and can reach more than $100,000, depending on the complexity of the imagery in terms of visual effects and other elements. wow. maybe they should have picked a shorter movie?

The most annoying thing about it is they added drawings of blood on the films negative so when zombies get it between the eyes blood splatters towards the lense in big fakey droplets. ~very cheesy. Lets hope the don't repeat that mess.

While I'm not thrilled about it, at least if it meets Lucas' technical standards it'll probably work. I say make CITIZEN KANE in 3D -- that party scene at the newspaper office would be great! And all that deep focus...yeesh!

I would think the image needs to be good in order for the 3D to work its best. I wonder how the classics would look in this new 3D, a la CREATURE, etc. Ben

How about Sergio Martino's early 70's gialli with their knives and faces lunging into wide angle close-ups (or the freaky faces and dripping candles of DAY OF THE MANIAC's Sabbath sequence). Or how about the fake spiders in MURDER OBSESSION and NUDE FOR SATAN (how about the XXX version of that in 3D!). "I just spent all morning watching a VH1 special on Gwen Stefani.
