I have a rather low opinion of sequels, yet I was surprised at the quality of the special effects, the twist in the story line. and the child actor. However the woman in the film apears to be perpetully prone to histrionic behavior. I expected the worst, yet for two dollars it was impossible to pass up. the dubbing if any was superlative, yet I'm not sure that there was any dubbing, and that the dialogue was in English. I have never seen the original BEYOND THE DOOR which evryone tells me is superior. I didn't realise that Mario Bava, and his son Lamberto filmed this. Can anyone tell me more about this film. The son in this film was a kinky bastard, somewhat shocking to I. Please let me know what you think about this film Thanks in advance MR BUTTHOLE ESQ

Mario left most of the direction to his son Lamberto. I heard/read that Mario would show up in the morning then would leave early letting Lamberto do the directing.

The special effects were above par for this genre, yet it had some truly chilling moments. The child in this film was really creepy and kinky which I did not suspect. I had a nagging intuition that this was Mario's last film, and that Lamberto Bava had alot of influence in this film. The woman in this film howevr was prone to over the top with her histrionic behavior. I like the various twist in the plot, Thanks Koukol for your info on this film. Thanks MR BUTTHOLE

SHOCK was a Film Ventures acquisition (BTD was co-produced by FV's Edward Montoro) and the presence of the same child actor apparently gave them the idea for the retitling. It's one creepy mother of a film. I like the music quite a bit. Daria Nicolodi performance was good and the direction was decent.

Daria Nicolodi (spelling) is beautiful here and definitely this is one creepy mother! The score by I,Libra is also very cool and is often mistaken for a GOBLIN score. The scene where that evil kid runs at his mom (Nicolodi) and suddenly morphs into her dead, junkie, husband is chilling stuff. Yeah I would never consider this a sequel to Beyond the Door. The only tangible is the possession theme, at best. HombreLobo44

THE DARK completely sucked but my friends and I were quickly taken aback and rivited by BEYOND THE DOOR 2. One of those nights when the movie you never heard of blew out the one you went to see.

My father, aunt and sister saw it during Dawn's initial release.
