This if nothing else is proof that the unlicensed entertainment industry has changed. I imagine that unless they have more instances like that vault opening gig companies like SWV have only a limited number of times they can go back to the well for new material, which is in part why we're seeing stuff like Sinister apparently plundering import DVD releases. There is a finite universe for movies that aren't licensed but can be released commercially and SWV is feeling the pinch because they insist on working only from their own material. Why they don't go the Retromedia route and just make their own coldpressed retail versions is a puzzler though, unless maybe they aren't interested in distributing like that. In any event I'm ordering a MAD BUTCHER DVD the next time I have an extra ducat or two.

I always try to find some kind of cool, different Xmas dvd or cd each year. I also want to try to get that Mexican Santa flick -- what's the best one again? I'm hoping the word gets out about SWV ending its involvement with Image, and that someone else (reputable) gets in the sack with 'em. Or, at least, SWV will be willing to get with someone else. But I think they're planning on building off their rep that's been built since dvd started. Will be interesting to watch and see what they do (and how they do). I truly hope they find something else (another collection perhaps?) that will continue to help them stand out from most of the other companies. Ben
