I saw a documentary a couple of years back on the CI Network Channel that was about the neo-Nazi movement, and how strong and politically powerful its actually become, especially in parts of Eastern Europe (former Soviet Rule), and what makes it real dangerous is the fact the West (as well as parts of Europe) doesn't take it very seriously. According to the documentry, its almost functioning on a Robert Ludlum novel level. Lots of sleepers planted all over secretly financing certain political candidates that push for certain policies within the governments they represent that would make a global takeover much easier when the time was right. it was very interesting, and scarey, because it painted the neo-Nazi Nazi movement as a very viable and potentially dangerous threat if people don't start taking 'em more seriously. After all, before 9/11/2001 did anyone really take Al Quada that seriously?

Ben Wishaw should be playing James Bond. He's just the right age, he can meet all the physical and cultural demands of the character, he can act, and he looks more like Bond than does Daniel Craig who was way too old for the part when he started. Q should be a minor bit player. In personality and appearance Q is cast to contrast with Bond, not compete with him or make him look old. He does his amusing schtick and gets out of the way. One scene, perhaps two scenes, that can be shot in a day or less. Turning Q into a supporting role in the 1980s was always a mistake. EON's just making changes for the sake of making changes, with no sense or logic to them and with no respect for the source material. Richard

Registered User Posts: 673 Nov 26 11 4:38 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I suppose it reflects a certain truism that people who are too young are being given jobs which would normally require a lifetime of experience and expertise (David Cameron being one case in point) but am I the only one slightly irked by the notion of a teenage looking Q? Ben Wishaw is best known, in the UK, for playing the persistently harassed techno wizard Pingu in Nathan Barley (I suspect this role may be behind his casting here).

Of course, by the time of the next Bond film (after SKYFALL), Craig may not even be in consideration for another Bond, and newer (and younger) blood will be selected. I have zero faith in the guidance of the series under the current regime. Mirek

I think Craig looks a fine early 40's on screen. Which is...a tad old to be JUST having gotten his 00 license. Great director, and a Bond I'm adjusting to. No offense to Craig, who's a decent actor. But...I'd have rather they just kept Brosnan, if it were up to me. I can't think of any current actors, outside of Clive Owen who turned it down, who'd make a particularly strong Bond. But definitely some odd casting choices. I wonder how much EON is approving and how much MGM is . I do still like Javier Bardem as the villain, though. He's great, and quite intense. Maybe this time though, they'll have a bit more fun? Craig indicated a while back that he's looking forward to proper James Bond fun, with the girls, the gadgets,etc.

A man who stays in the lab. Expanding Q into a supporting role and dragging him out into the field in the 1980s was always a mistake. The Bond in the novels is perpetually in his thirties, vaguely. Appropriately, this established but relatively unknown actor was only 32, and not too busy doing teleplays, bit parts, and supporting roles when he was hired to star in so Ben Wishaw is just the right age, general appearance and physical type. All he has to do to be believable as James Bond are the usual things an actor does to prepare for a role. Once he's in the suit everybody will forget about this imposter Craig. But if they stand Wishaw as Q next to Craig his youth and looks will show up Craig ... which might be the idea, if you know what I mean. Richard Last Edited By: Richard Nov 27 11 4:54 PM. This is what they've missed with Craig. The man is a very fine actor and those fights do look more convincing than usual but so what. We never care what happens to him and we're never really having a good time watching these movies. Bond should not be the kind of dick you want to see killed. Fassbender is a fantastic actor. But I think he would have exactly the same problem. He doesn't have a twinkle in his eye. And I know this may sound a trivial thing but it's the difference between being a very good straight actor and being a movie star. The role of Bond requires a movie star. There are dozens who could play the role brilliantly and give it that little touch of sardonic wit. Neither Wilson nor Barbara Broccoli seem to understand what they are dealing with.

If I remember correctly, in QUANTUM they tried to keep his amours to a minimum, wisely. The character should be someone whom women take an instant fascination and hidden lust for, even if they initially rebel at those impulses. I cringe whenever Craig approaches a love scene or a scene where he has to be charming. Mirek

A replica of a real manor used for Skyfall is blown up after being attacked by villain Silva (Javier Bardem). The gravesites of Bond's parents, Andrew Bond and Monique Delacroix who died in a climbing accident, will be shown.
