I was reading Diabolique Magazine's excellent review of the (also excellent) Subkultur La noche de Walpurgis Blu-ray, and there was one thing that caught my attention. When the reviewer adressed the inclusion of the cut version of the film, she said “It’s an interesting inclusion, but I wonder how many fans would really want to see it, when they have the full, uncut film as the main feature.”
So I commented there one thing that I'd also like to share here: In fact, I have always favored the “clothed versions” of Naschy films, as the inclusion of the nudity and the sex scenes in his films always felt forced to me. I have nothing against sex scenes and nudity, but in Naschy’s films, for me, it just seems gratuitous, so it detracts from the narrative. So I bought that blu-ray precisely because I knew that the clothed version was also included, but I always read fans favoring the unclothed versions. Am I the only one that prefers the clothed ones? I thought it could be fun to discuss here which unclothed versions are more interesting and which ones are simply cheap exploitation. For example, I specially despise the “nude” version of Horror Rises From the Tomb, which even leads to many continuity errors with the rest of the movie, while I don’t mind the topless and nude scenes in The Beast And The Magic Sword.
