At least with singers (and specifically, song writers) they are chronicling their feelings in their own music, which people are free to buy - or not. But with an actor just going up to receive a performance award, that's not the time or place. They do this because they know millions of people are watching them 'live'.

Victoria Jackson? Scott Baio?? Ohhhh... those are some popular and respected actors!
Besides, other than Fox, where in this day and age does this occur with any degree of regularity in the mass media ? I heard Jon Voight speaking out as Conservative on Sean Hannity's radio program, true enough... but all I could think to myself was, "where are all the other celebs who are supposedly like him?? And why can't they speak out anywhere else other than the Sean Hannity show?" .
I'll tell you where they all were... they were in hiding. Wouldn't dare speak their unpopular views, at least not if they still wanted to find lots of work in Hollywood. But they did speak out at the polls (along with discreet non-celebrity Republicans). Well, hopefully the tide is now going to turn. America is fed up. God Bless America.

It really is very simple.
Mirek, of the great mind.

I offer my most sincere condolences to my American friends. Today, February 20, 2017, is the beginning of the slow descent into Hell of the United States ... With a primate to direct this great country. I wish you to remain strong, but it will be difficult.
