Over the last ten years the films of Jess Franco are more widely available then ever and yet there is lack of literature (books) about his films. Since it doesn't look like any new book about Franco's films is coming anytime soon. What are the best books that have been released about Franco even if they are OOP or in a non English language?

There's also OBSESSION, long out of print, and Italy's Glittering Images book on Franco, which has English text. Petit's work is groundbreaking,
however.

I bought a nice one recently from xploitedcinema.com called Bizarre Sinema Jess Franco El sexo del horror. It's worth every penny and quickly became a
treasured resource for me in my pursuit of Franco's films. The book is loaded with stills, nice essays, and an interview with Franco. The cover has a
beautiful still of Soledad Miranda on it and it is hard covered. The only issue that I have with the book are a few minor typos, but they don't detract
from the overall pleasure of the book. A book on Franco that has a few little errors is appropriate enough anyway. As we know, his films are a little rough
around the edges.

I've been meaning to ask this for a while now but why hasn't OBSESSION been put back in print? Franco's popularity now much be 100x higher than
when the book was originally published so it looks like they'd try to cash in and re-release it.

While it's not strictly a Franco book Cathal Tohill and Pete Tomb's Immoral Tales has a great and quite substantial essay on Franco that really nails down his appeal to fans:

IMMORAL TALES is hands down a must have. It will not dissapoint.
I will forever kick myself for not buying OBSESSION...I was not terribly impressed with Jess circa 92-93. Spook - currently on Ebay is a set of issues 1-5 for 9.99 ends in 5 days and might be worth sniping |

I bought the IMMORAL TALES book years ago from Barnes and Nobles. It does have a ton of great pictures in it. If I can find what box I put it in (I'm
currently turning my office into a nursery), I'll try and post some pics for ya. Actually, there are several whole sections of the book that I never
bothered to read (Jess Franco for one), which I have now started to gain a new appreciation for, so I would really like to revisit this book anyway.

My copy of Bizarre Sinema Jess Franco El sexo del horror arrived today. I have only had a chance to glance at it. It looks very nice and it is loaded with many cool pictures many which I have never seen before. I still haven't given up hope on finding the other books and magazines mentioned in this thread. |

You know, I just had it in my hands this week, but now I can't find it. It was sent to me by the author. Once I find it, I'll report back on the
publisher. But it's all in Japanese, and whatever illustrations are present are tiny and appear to be taken from the internet.

Tales had a full cover photo of Britt Nichols from a Franco movie also.
