Who used to do that art for SWV? They still have cool art, but some of that older stuff is different, and really really colorful & wild!

Well I have a tape titled like that, don't know if it's from SWV.Basically it's clips from late 50's early 60's films like NAVE DE LOS
MONSTRUOS, EL MONSTRUO RESUCITADO and CHARRO DE LAS CALAVERAS.

Torgaman2, this is probably the tape you have. I have actually never watched this! I have a copy of the tape but the
photos I posted actually came from somewhere else (on the web? I have them in my files). You will note there seems to be a little difference in the two
front-cover pics, I don't know if this represents different printings from SWV or if the scans were just different quality.

I inquired with SWV if this might show up on dvd-r sometime down the road. Unfortunately, they don't have plans to do it. GRRR!!!

I had two questions for them, something like this...
"Hi there, Two questions for SWV: - Did SWV ever release their own version of LADY FRANKENSTEIN, and if so, what was the length & source? - Any plans to release MEXICAN MONSTERS ON THE MARCH on dvd- r? If not, does anyone here have a scan of the cover image?" Tim's reply was: "Nope, and nope, sorry!" Straight to the point, no word mincing at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with K. Gordon Murray's estate being aware of them and keeping an eye on them, perhaps. They had intended to release a bunch of Murray's Mexican imports, but it ended prematurely. There was supposed to be a SWV-Image double-feature of THE BRAINIAC and WITCH'S MIRROR, I believe, but only the artwork got done:

SWV had sent me screeners of all their KGM double feature DVDs - think this was 2002-ish? The "Samson" DVD wasn't there, and when I inquired they
told me the entirety of their Mexican titles were being suspended. The "Wrestling Women" and "Night of the Bloody Apes" discs had shipped,
and they could sell through what they had produced, but nothing new was coming. They mentioned something about changes in NAFTA/GATT policies with Mexico
allowing studios south of the border to pull titles back from the very grey area of international public domain. They weren't the only video dealer to drop
the Mexic-horror and lucha stuff at that same time. At the same time, SWV had made great gains in mainstream distribution - Tower, Best Buy, etc. - so they had
their hands full with other non-Mexican genre stuff that was undisputably theirs to release. Not a great loss to them, but SUCKED for us. I ran out and scooped
up all the VHS I could find everywhere, and some stuff still hasn't come out on DVD from Mexico since. The "Mexican Monsters on the March" and
"Viva Santo and His Pals" comps were basically cut-together montages that... well... weren't exactly encumbered by property rights, shall we say,
so those were never even considered for DVD transfer. Copies tend to do well on eBay as a result.

Did you get the one I posted a cover to, BRAINIAC/WITCH'S MIRROR? If so, how was it all?

Got the MONSTERS ON THE MARCH which i bought many years ago at a Chiller Convention. Still looking for some titles the are in this home made mixed tape. That
was a great eye opener for someone who had not seen much mexican monster movies and i was always on the look out for LA NAVE DE LOS MONSTRUOS since i saw some
clips there. Finally got it later and it is a marvel. There is a weird looking Frankenstein that i would like to get my hands on too !
