Christopher Hitchens is an amusing fellow.� I don't know if he thought this was amusing, but he decided to find out what it's like to get waterboarded.� He didn't last long, as you will see. And is Enigma the standard soundtrack for waterboarding? And don't try this at home!!! Mirek

On the subject of torture...
has anyone seen PHILOSOPHY OF THE KNIFE? I wouldn't mind seeing it but wouldn't want the DVD.

One thing I don't understand. How do you say the special code word, "Red," which halts the waterboarding, when you have water in your mouth or
will have water in your mouth if you open it to speak?

so...we wanted to find out, just what is waterboarding?
interesting that there's two different "methods" on display. i'd say the set up in Hitchen's scenario is probably more accurate....though i seem to recall the "board" in water boarding is in reference to the wooden plank the subject is tied to as they are DUNKED under water. who knows? i mean, aside from all those guys in Guantanamo... as far as Hitchens goes, i'm not really familiar with the guy, but i did see him take part in a debate on atheism vs religion. he did pretty good, but resorted to name calling and shiit talking a little too often. anyone that's married knows, the second you call your wife a %*!#, you loose the argument by default |

Hitchens rose to whatever fame he had in the United States by attacking Mother Teresa at every opportunity he had on television. He is, in many ways, a
professional provocateur, adjusting his positions according to how much they can annoy and scandalize the masses. Which makes for great entertainment.

Hitchens's points about Mother Teresa, a cold-blooded mass murderer if there ever was one, are well taken. And they are a good example of how, unlike most
of the currently popular "new atheists," such as Richard Dawkins, he does not shy away from going for the appropriate targets. What he is trying to
prove with this waterboarding experiment I have no idea.
