From Friday the 13th, to Martin.... From Maniac to the Prowler.....and all those lovely zombies. And not just him...his students and assistants over the years are the guys who continue to push the envelope. I just finished reading 'the grande illusion' yet again, and always get an idea for a new gore gag when i do.... now to go make a headcast of myself....there's gore to make.

Not only is the man one of the greats in real time makeup effects, but he also is not a half bad actor either. His part in From Dusk to Dawn is probably the most memorable of the film. Of his many gigs as makeup maestro I would have to rank Dawn of the Dead and Maniac as his 2 crown jewels. Oddly enough I didn't have much use for his remake of Night of the Living Dead. I assume it's because he got tired of it, perhaps bitter that people have taken what he's been doing for decades and are getting more credit for them. Definitely a huge influence in my life and love of films. Him and Romero are certainly two people who can be blamed for my eccentric tastes in movies! Ben

But he only acts in movies now -- I miss his practical fx dearly. I suppose with the increased use of CGI fx over the years he likely feels that he's a relic of the past. And, I assume he has never taken the time to learn CGI stuff too. Can't blame him. You think Chaney would've learned CGI? Never! Ben
