For you pervs out there, here are some screen caps from the nude scenes of this "G" rated film. (That's the rating WB gave the film on its DVD
back copy.)

The fact this DVD is mislabel as "G Rated" makes me think some prude will eventually complain and Worst Buy might overreact and pull them so I better get my hands on one of these soon.

Watched MOON ZERO TWO this evening with my clients here at work. What a goofy blast! Man, that was silly fun...

Something seems to be going on with this title with reports coming in that the DVD has been recalled over at CHFB.
Anyone who wants one better hurry! |

It may be recalled so the back cover copy, stating that the film is G rated, can be changed. But I wonder who squealed, if anyone. I wouldn't place it
past someone who bought up a load of these to sell on eBay to notify WB of the G rating problem in the hope that WB would pull the disc, at least temporarily,
and make his stock that much more valuable.

Someone over Maniacs accused ' loud moth fans ' for spoiling things...and who knows, some at WB may be watching the forums or someone connected to them
may have passed along the 'net buzz to them.
But the entire fault lies with WB. They did not put out the long cut by accident. Back when they issued the LD people were not happy and WB claimed they simply did not have the longer version. They got TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA on DVD uncut and re rated R and should have done the same here. It's corporate clumsiness to blame. But from what I gave read, this is all due to one customer who could not find it and was told about the 'recall' by a single BB employee. Now we all know that BB employees rarely ( if ever ) possess the power of cognitive thought so anything they say should be taken with several grains of salt. Now I am not sure if I should go to a great Mexican place for lunch, or scurry over to the Watertown BB to look for additional copies! |

To hunt down the Sci-Fi discs for a friend, I went to two Best Buys in the city and only found one remaining copy of the BATTLE/ULTIMATE WARRIOR disc.
Curiously enough, but not suprisingly, not one Best Buy computer had any of the WB Sci-Fi double features in its database, even though I bought them at
Best Buy on Tuesday!

They're listed as SCI-FI 70'S and SCI-FI 50'S in the BB "database".

I found that out not long ago by checking the CHFB. But if you put the individual titles into the BB database, as the BB guys did, you get nothing. They also
put in "Sci-Fi Double Feature".... and nothing. Go figure!

I would love to know how Warner obtained the uncut British version of WDRTE.
I bet it wasn't easy. Did they have to beg Hammer Films in England for their only copy. Or did they use the same negative that they cut the American version from back in 1970. Anyone have an inkling of an idea? |

It seems the "uncut" stuff that's been edited back in was done completely with CGI and using Ted Newsom's memories of said scenes...

This makes WB's third restoration of a theatrically censored Hammer, pic, so I'd guess it came from the same place they got the uncut TASTE THE
BLOOD...& and DRAC AD 72 a few years ago ( but if that's a WB or Hammer vault pull who knows, a good question for the next WB webchat ).
MGM got material for VAMPIRE LOVERS from Hammer for at least their DVD version ( when the extra bath footage was restored ) if not for their first VHS crack at it, so who know what they have buried there. |

Boy I just did pick up this one in time! I started 'noiding out after going to 3 different BB's with no luck. A guy told me at the first one I went to
that all the stores are going to be pulling this release, sooner or later. Complaints about the nudity coming in left and right not to mention the words out
now on ALL the boards..Anyone wanting this release better get on the stick....now! Of course I see amazon has some copies for right around $40 a piece (and
higher!).. I smell fish...something definitely stinks here.. ; )

I went to two Best Buy's and found nothing here in Houston. So I went online to order the disc. When I checked store availability, the one Best Buy I chose
not to check, because it was too far, had copies. So I went out there yesterday and they had probably 2 dozen copies. I bought one. Watched them both in
succession. This may piss off some people, but I just wasn't impressed.
The dialogue in Dino drove me mad! Nice effects, and the story wasn't bad, but I was disappointed somewhat. It really seemed to drag. Maybe it was me. Victoria Vetri was pretty and all the half naked bodies had some appeal, but in the long run...no. I did enjoy Jim Danforth's dinosaurs, and the lilting melody used throughout was nice. Maybe too much hype. Moon Zero Two was an exercise in boredom. It was campy and I sort of enjoyed the soundtrack. I thought some of the music cues could have been better thought out. I just wasn't impressed. Maybe because the hype over the years for this unavailable film was so huge, it just couldn't live up to it. I always enjoy Adrienne Corri, but the fright wigs they had her wear in Moon were horrible. Perhaps I will revisit them one day and come out with a better impression.

I ordered all three double features from Best Buy Online on 1 August. Two of them, Moon Zero Two/When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth and World Without End/Satellite
In The Sky were backordered then and remain backordered. I called Best Buy and they claim that the items will arrive from the manufacturer between 22 August
and 5 September. I am not holding my breath. I hate these exclusives at Best Buy.

For those interested in Moon Zero Two I've just posted a review
of it up at Cosmic Cinema. In short it is a surprisingly entertaining 'space western' produced during the era of mod fashion. So if you were a fan of
Space: 1999 or Gerry Anderson's UFO series you may enjoy this.
