I love this shot. It's totally a DP wank shot. It adds NOTHING to the narrative. it exists just to show off....and it succeeds completely.

I was, as per usual with my perverted tastes, was always more impressed with the gabbas on that well rounded Italian beauty, than the crane shot. Love Tenebrae
though. Perhap one of my favorite Argento films.

Great scene and great music in a great movie. One of Argento's best. They don't make films like this anymore, including Argento himself. The only thing
I always find odd is why she would decide to change her shirt right after hearing someone whisper "pervert. slimy pervert."

I suppose nobody else has seen Antonioni's THE PASSENGER, the last scene of which is the obvious inspiration for this?

BTW, I had a DVD of THE PASSENGER in my hand not to long ago. Sealed copy, $5. Was tempted to buy it, but didn't.

THE PASSENGER is wonderful, not to be missed. You will love it. And the last scene, where, among other things, the camera appears to pass through a barred
window, is mind-boggling if you start thinking about it. The secret of how it was done is given away on the commentary track on the DVD.

Ah GOD!!! I love this whole sequence. It's one that I queue up for friends to gauge their film geek love.

More like "best five minutes ever filmed by an Italian not in the US."

I could only stand about 2 minutes of that 5 minute clip (too boring)

A crowning achievement in Argento cinema IMO. I love this film and I would have to say it ranks as probably my second favorite Argento film.

"Antonioni? Antonioni who?"
He is the bum that ripped off Argento with BLOW OUT. |

Jojo Lapin X wrote: I don't see much of a similarity personally, beyond the fact that both are long takes. More likely Argento was inspired by the opening scene of Polanski's The Tenant. |

Thanks! This seems like a pretty interesting forum, and it's always good to find a place free of IMDb-style trolling and name calling.
