i thought 'Bama's signing of the law was odd...if only because i figured the FDA was already involved somehow with tobacco. i feel the same way about cigarettes as any other drug-do what you want to your own body. i know you smokers got all pissed off when they started shoo-ing you outside, but it is one of the few drugs caustic to everyone in the room. other than that, you sunsabitches can smoke yourselves silly for all i care. maybe big tobacco is evil, but cigarette smokers are stupid (no offense) and even as a non-smoker, i don't buy into the ridiculous anti-smoking smear campaign.

Good points, Frankie. Whenever my stepkids or even my own kids have asked me why I smoke I always reply that I smoke because I am an idiot. It is so true! Smoking is horrible. I wake up two to three times a night just to go have a smoke! I have quit jobs because it is just too difficult to catch a decent smoke break. Let's not get started on women and smoking either. Having to smoke outside is no issue for me. I am keenly aware of how nasty the smoke smells and infringes upon non-smokers enjoyment of say a dinner out or a film. Same holds true at my home. I do not smoke inside the house. There was a time when I did smoke inside, and it drove my first wife mad. I was adamant that,"it's my house too!" Pure a-hole posturing with no regard for my wife or kids. Live and learn. I grew up around two parents who smoked. The house always had cigarette smoke in the air. People didn't stop to consider health risks as much back then I suppose or they turned a blind eye to it. I don't blame my parents for my addiction. I started in high school because all of my cool friends were doing it. So call me a sheep. So now that I am a pretty much a life long smoker the same government that allowed tobacco companies to grow and prosper handsomely is going to ram pompous moral health aspects up my a-hole and tax me into poverty because I am so terribly hooked on the same product they allowed to flourish for so long in this country? Motherf@ckers! Meanwhile we still have the drunks out on our roads all boozed up and cutting down whole families at times in accidents fueled by a boozy haze. I am not a drinker and never have been. Yes an occasional shot of Tequila is lovely, but I can count the number of times I have partaken of this in one year on one set of fingers. So why not bang on the booze hounds too just to keep it all fair? Why not legalized pot? The effect is not that different from booze. Oh, I know why! It' s because you have to smoke it! Like elsa put it, what do we really have to look forward to at 70 or 80 anyway? Diapers, Alzheimer's, Lawrence Welk reruns, and a dick that would only possibly work if you shot it full of Crank. F@ck it! Pass me a smoke.
