Well it looks like everybody's favorite sexy Republican is leaving behind the Governor's seat in Alaska with a possible bid for the First Female
President in 2012. Come on guys... give it up for Sarah Palin!

I'm crossing my fingers that she was either blackmailed and forced to leave, or some totally damaging story comes out in the next hours/days. I was doing
fine with my Palin Derangement Syndrome, but no...THIS had to happen.

I was listening to excerpts of her press conference on the radio. The newscasters spent several minutes simply trying to figure out what exactly she said,
since her rambling speech was at best only semi-coherent. She kept babbling on and on, going into an extended basketball metaphor one minute, then talking
about a slogan on a magnet on her mother's referigerator, then something about her kids . . . all the time trying to shoehorn in Republican talking points.
A shockingly poor performance, even by her standards; she sounded like she's been dipping into Michael Jackson's medicine cabinet. If she's going
to run in 2012, she's going to need an extraordinary amount of coaching.

If this is what her political advisers are recommending, maybe she needs to rethink who she consults. Newscaster/sports commentater on a small TV station; one
term mayor of a really small town; quits during her only term as governor. If she is planning to run for the Presidency in 2012....strange, strange moves....
is there another shoe to fall?

Guess we'd def hear about lack of experience in that election too since she's quitting, unfortunately. If she is going to run, I think it was a mistake
for her to give up on being governor with so much time before the next election season.

I am thinking that......once returned to private life..if Libs keep up with the vicious thug like Al Goldstein Der Sturmer level of attacks upon her children
she can then turn around and sue them into the ground since they will no longer have the protection of her being a "public figure."
Which I hope she does. But on the other hand, after Obama's serial trainwrecks this past two weeks from Iran to Honduras to the Cap and Trade bill, she might just be smelling the blood in the water and has gone off to prepare for the Presidential run in 2012. Be interesting to find out which. |

Super avatar, Hombre!
As for Palin, she will never make it to become the Presidential nominee of the Republican Party, but she will definitely be a candidate. If this is a political move, I admire her gumption. Maybe she'll run for the Senate. You go, girl! Mirek |

She speaks like she's angry and drunk, and presumably thinks that way.
It's so bizarre that anyone would consider that as an indication of leadership material. |

Personally if I had to put any trust in the current crop of female contenders for President in 2012 I would have to go with Hillary. Sorry Sarah! Hillary has a
ton more experience and I believe she has the smarts too. Sarah is just a fun gal to talk about and a pure MILF. After eight long years of Baron Von Bush Jr.
and at least 4 years of Slamma Bamma Obama wackiness, we may need a b@tch like Hillary Clinton to cut through the malaise.

Hillary has been successfully marginalized by Obama. She will run, in 2016, but I think by then there will be so many newer contenders, and good ones, that
she won't have a chance. I think, I hope.

Actually, after checking out more the Palin situation, it appears that she's just sick of political office and will make her mark publicly--a book,
possible perpetual Fox News guest, etc. So, as of now, it doesn't appear she'll be running for the Presidency. (Though, as a woman, she always has
the option to change her mind!)

Palin is immensely popular because of her honest politics in Alaska. One thing she has proven is she is serving the Alaskans , not the politico/corporates as
we are so used to here. She is leaving office early to let the lt. Governor have time to show his mettle before the election in 2010. She does intend to persue
national politics. She is no crooked Chicago payola politician. She has scared the national democrats silly and no doubt they are after her big time. I think
you guys perhaps are a little too in love with the misinfo press down in the 48. My brother lives up there and several of my old friends.

I am just in love with Sarah! However I like your thoughts on her,Tio Fredrick. Not too many positives from the folks in these parts regarding Sarah Palin.
Best of luck Sarah in whatever you pursue! It's been fun. HombreLobo44

I forget if this was Mark Levine or Joe Scarborough but I recently heard a very interesting dissection of the motivations behind the hatred of Sarah Palin.
1) The Libs are terrified of her. A successful female politician from one of the flyover states who truly is of the people. 2) The country club republicans loathe her because she highlights just what a loser John McCain and their wing of the Republican Party was/is. 3) They BOTH loathe her because she did not go to Harvard or Yale or Barnard etc and thus is not of the establishment. I hope she makes a go for it in 2012. After Jimmy Carter, we will need a Reagan to clean up the mess. Also it will be a beautiful thing watching the Women's right libs toss all they pretended to believe in over the side as they savage at her. But we will see. Certainly the type of abuse Palin has been subjected to only has the bright spot of revealing the utter hypocrisy of Libs when they go on about McCarthy or how "mean" Cheney or Limbaugh are supposed to be............ |

It's hard to know what to make of this... if she were positioning herself for a run at the Presidency you'd think she'd have consulted with the
Republicans before dropping this bombshell....it's too bizarre/
I can*not* believe anyone thinks Hilary is presidential material. But then I couldn't believe anyone could think Obama was, either. I don't think Palin is either... Frankly, I don't think it matters a whit. In 4 years this country will be so far gone down the path of socialism that there'll be no recovery.
