Encore Westerns often runs restored versions of various films. For some time now, they have been running an uncut CHATO'S LAND, and an IMDb user reports they have also aired restored prints of MAJOR DUNDEE, ULZANA'S RAID and VALDEZ IS COMING. MGM's DVD of CHATO'S LAND is cut and has a clothed rape scene. The version on Encore Westerns restores violence trims, has the rape scene unclothed, and appears to be the uncut Euro version of the film. I believe it also runs longer than the DVD. The cuts are extensively detailed on the IMDb right here. (There is also a web page somewhere that gives even further detail about these cuts, with lots of screen grabs.) Tell me the uncut CHATO'S LAND was not aired in the 4% PAL speed-up? I put off buying the German DVD for that reason. Would love to see CHATO'S LAND in the proper pitch. Don't think it does, but I don't have a copy to check at the moment. It airs a lot, so I figure I can always get one if I need. Darn, I can't remember where that site is. I think I found a link for it by digging through the IMDb user comments threads for CHATO'S LAND (that is, on IMDb's message board for the film, not the user reviews). When the lease drys up it dries up and you may not see it again for years. In the five years I had the station they never aired CHATO'S LAND, cut or otherwise, not even once. Registered User Posts: 255 Jul 25 11 3:02 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I forgot to mention that Encore Westerns has also aired LAND RAIDERS w/Telly Savalas, George Maharis, Guy Rolfe and Arlene Dahl. I'm not sure if it has ever been released on home video, but EW ran a nice looking complete print (101min) that included some surprising, brief topless nudity courtesy of Ms. Dahl. Also with Fernando Rey, Gustavo Rojo and George Coulouris in the cast, the IMDb indicates LAND RAIDERS was shot in Spain and Budapest, so the film has a bit of international lineage. That said, I thought it was only so-so, though interesting to finally see. On the same note, Encore Westerns also runs Spaghetti and Euro Westerns. Not a ton of them, but I've recorded, I'd say, maybe a dozen over the last couple years, and when I get a chance I'll list what has run. Nothing earth shattering, but still, with the allure of the uncut domestic prints and the Euro airings, I think the channel is worthwhile if you're able to get it. (Sorry, Mirek!)

The prints generally look nice with good color and detail, usually far better than the washed out, heavily cropped versions you would find on a PD disc release. Here are the titles I've seen air: God's Gun Frontier Hellcat (German; w/Elke Sommer) God Forgives, I Don't Treasure of Silver Laker (Lex Barker, Winnetou Western) The Longest Hunt (aka Shoot Gringo Shoot, w/Erika Blanc) The Relentess Four (1965, Spanish/Italian, w/Adam West) Red Sun (Charles Bronson, Ursula Andress) Vengeance (w/Richard Harrison) A Reason to Live, a Reason to Die (James Coburn) Captain Apache (Lee Van Cleef) Bad Man's River (Lee Van Cleef) A Bullet for Sandoval Pancho Villa (1972, Spanish, dir: Eugenio Martin) El Condor (Jim Brown, Lee Van Cleef; borderline SW filmed in Spain) And on the American Western side, EW runs a decent, fairly colorful print of Roger Corman's Gunslinger (w/Allison Hayes) that improves quite a bit on the PD versions I've seen.
