I saw the first one back in '94 or '95, projected from film at the union hall of University of Wisconsin, and that one time 17 (!!!) years ago was enough for me. I don't know if I'd ever watch it again. Never saw the sequel either. I suppose I might be willing to check it out some day, since I'm more into Euro horror now than I was then. EDIT: Ya know, in thinking about it, I'm not 100% it was a film projection. Might've been video (which would make more sense). Kundun Rat Terrier: 8/16/02 - 3/26/11. RIP, Ku. Registered User Posts: 227 Nov 21 11 3:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm guessing the first one isn't available at "that place" because of the rabbit-skinning scene (films featuring animal cruelty are banned). I can't remember if there's anything similar in the second one that would keep it off the site as well, or maybe it's just banned by association. I used to have these on VHS back in the day, but I never got the DVDs. Like Ben, I really don't see myself ever wanting to watch them again, but if you've never seen them, they're worth a look. Good luck tracking them down!

Registered User Posts: 23 Nov 21 11 9:41 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've been a big fan of Nekromantik since I got it on VHS from Film Threat way back when---not so much for the content of the film (though I think it tells its simple story in a rather poetic way), but for the obvious ambition behind its production. It really is one of the most elaborate super 8 films ever made. Behind the threadbare production values is a real eye for composition, a thoughtfulness in approach that seems more inspired by 1970's arthouse cinema than exploitation. And I like the music very much. (Koukol, I sent you a message.)

Registered User Posts: 9797 Nov 27 11 2:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well Koukol I once had the gorgeous dvd release of the second film which was my favorite of the two. That part is the one actually considered an art film as it features loads of atmospheric scenes of little dialogue and some wonderful music. I didn't care much for the first film actually as it comes as more cyber punk gross than artsy. Both films are extremely gloomy though and the kind of gross that makes you want to shower afterwards. I was a big fan of Part 2 back in the 90's but I really don't have a great desire though to view either film again. I special edition dvd of Part 2 had a bonus cd of the soundtrack to both films which is why I bought the release in the first place. Alas though dumby me let my copy of the film go in a pawn shop. I do still have a pretty decent avi. of the film and most of the music from the films that I had ripped from the disc before losing it. PM me if interested. Cheers! New computer that I have and am still trying to remember all of the web faves of mine. Checked in at another one of those sites we do not name here and they do have the first Nekromantik in an avi. format. Registered User Posts: 2118 Nov 27 11 7:45 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I think my buddy has a nice set. He gave me a set but it didn't have any English, but he said he has one that does. Next time I see him, I'll get them, and do a trade with anyone. I'll let you know when I get them.
