Saw the film Yesterday in Italian and I agree in part with most of what has been said here.
For one thing I was able to watch ( and enjoy somehow ) a film free of most of the current fashion drawbacks ( for me ) - a frantic pace, loud noises everywhere, absurd camera hiperzoomigs, blood and gore all over the place , ridiculous SFX ... ( the Third mother anyone..? )
Laura Morante is the best of the film, She carries the story on her shoulders all the way.
Rita Tushingham is fine too. Not sure about the others. Maybe is the Italian dubbing for the American actors but they seem uninvolved and distant.
I agree with the creepiness and rising anxiety , Avati is an old master here. I think the story predates in part Avati's "the house of the l.w." and somehow the British minor classic "Death Line" ( aka "Raw meat" ).
Nevertheless, the pace is maybe too slow and uneventful most of the time and there are the unavoidable plot holes. Only this time they are too absurd and illogical even to a 6 years old child.
In the end mixed feelings, better than most of nowadays production but not great either.

A note regarding Laura Morante, I don't know what you'll think guys, but I find her far more interesting and "hot" -at 50- that those 20-and-some kids "a la" Scarlett J. (now) or Cameron D. ( 10 years ago) .... Maybe I'm getting old..
BTW, Sydne Rome does a little cameo in the beginning and she looks worst than Bette Davis on "what ever happened to baby Jane".
What happened to you Sydne ?. That was, by far, the most frightening sight of the film..
