In this age of blogs, message boards and internet dominance, I've decided to do the right thing and go back to the good old days of printed zines.
So available right now (hot of the press) is KRIMI CORNER, a 4-page newsletter devoted to the German Edgar Wallace films and other krimis--the first and only publication of its kind. The issues will be printed as one long sheet and folded in the middle, so there are no staples involved. Issue One has an introduction to Wallace and the krimi, and a long review of Retromedia's DVD of THE MONSTER OF LONDON CITY and THE SECRET OF THE RED ORCHID. There's also a Rialto Edgar Wallace krimi checklist.
Future issues will cover the other Wallace krimis, including the Bryan Edgar Wallace krimis and such oddities as the krimi-inspired Sherlock Holmes film with Christopher Lee, SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE DEADLY NECKLACE. There'll also be reviews of the latest krimi DVDs, ground-breaking research, rare ad mats, etc.
Copies are $1 each, with $5 for a five-issue subscription. The newsletter is mailed folded in a letter envelope. For those wishing mailing in a manila envelope, the price per issue increases by 50c, with a five-issue subscription being $7.50. The price is likely to go up after this first issue.
Checks, money orders and well-hidden cash should be sent to M. Lipinski, P.O. Box 2398, New York, NY 10009.
Paypal payments can also be made to Mirelski@aol.com
