I just watched this very strange film from the Mexican director of Alucarda. Loosely based on a little known Poe work.

Oh yes this wonderfully bizarre film also known as DR. TARR'S TORTURE DUNGEON" is probably too strange for most tastes but I like it for some reason.

The same basic story of lunatics taking over the asylum and posing as the staff is also found without attribution to Poe in DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT and that Star Trek episode with Garth of Azar, "Whom Gods Destroy".
