Also, any word on the new feature being made? And why aren't the SWV videos available anymore? Is this due to the Fantoma releases on dvd, with a chance of latter ones coming later? Ben PS - I know these really aren't "Spanish" per se, but it didn't seem right to post in the North America/Mexico forum

I actually passed on the 3 disc Fantoma set in favour of the stellar five disc Brazilian set that is loaded with extras and available (last time I checked) from Xploited. Be sure to pick it up before it is unavailable. Most of the other Marins titles that were available in NA on video in the mid-90s are now floating around gratis on Emule, if you are so inclined. Hopefully, if the upcoming Coffin Joe flick is a success, then we will see more of Marins' films released on disc and with subtitles. Sadly, the original materials are (on the evidence of extras provided on the Brazilian set and culled from Marins' own collection) evidentally in fairly dreadful condition. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z%C...aix%C3%A3o

I'd even do a special Ze do Caixao/Coffin Joe section if the interest were there, he's that much of an original in the genre. Mirek

Though, besides Jose Mojica Marins, I am not familiar with any other horror filmmakers from that region. Glad I own it, though. No doubt there are still sealed copies available elsewhere; Ebay, for instance. Good suggestion, Mirek! Marins definitely deserves his own folder, perhaps combined with Porteguese and other South American horrors. By the way, I had a fellow come into the book store (the other day) where I work, and we had a long discussion on so-called Fantastic literature from the early part of the 20th century. On my recommendation, he not only ordered several Dedalus books still available, but also your superb translation of Grabinski (which was available to order, along with other of your publications, via Indigo/Chapters/Coles here in Canada). I got a kick out of mentioning to him that I had exchanged several messages with the very fine translator of that particular work. I also mentioned to him your several websites.

But I had to mention that my brother in-law who normally isn't a horror film buff saw the second film (THIS NIGHT I'LL POSSESS YOUR CORPSE) on a international film cable channel a couple of weeks and love it, this is what reminded me to finally order up the Trilogy set that I had put off on getting in the past because I was pre-occupied with so many other DVD releases .

Still very much worth seeing, however; as is the recent documentary on Marins, "The Strange World of Jose Mojica Marins".

Thanks, Mirek! Has anyone read Ray Castile's diary of his work on the new CJ film? It's actually pretty cool. Be good to include it in a dvd release. Also, it sounds as though 20th Century Fox has picked up distribution in South America, etc, and who knows...maybe the US? Ben
