They are discussed in an article in the FEAR WITHOUT FRONTIERS book and I'm really curious to see them. As translated by IMDB, the titles are: * The Vampire (1956) * Revenge of the Vampire (1957) * Curse of the Vampire (195 * Son of the Vampire (195 * Oily Man (195 * Oily Man Strikes Again (195 * Curse of Oily Man (1959) * Vampire Returns (1963) * Vampire of the Cave (1964) * Accursed Heritage (1965) Also, apparently there is another Malaysian horror film entitled THE DEVOURING ROCK (1959), which I'm also curious about. Any leads would be most appreciated!

They are available on VCDs. Some of the prints, for instance BN Rao's "Pontianak Gua Musang" and "Sumpah Pontianak" are surprisingly well preserved (especially for Asian movies). The two principal producing companies were Cathay-Keris (still existing, and affiliated with the HK company of the same name) and Malay Film Productions (or MFP), which was founded by the Shaw Brothers years before they made Chinese movies in Hong Kong. The directors were generally from India (like Balkrishna Narayan Rao) or Philippines (Rolf Bayer - who also made "Tagani" in his own country, the movie later cannibalized by Al Adamson for "Horror of the Blood Monsters"). BN Rao made at least 20 movies in Malaysia, most of them in the fantasy/horror/fairy tales genres, before returning to India. He directed the very first "Pontianak", and some of the sequels. You can ask Mr. Zaedi Zolkafli, he usually replied to me and sent me the VCDs I ordered. He's also a Malay film director, I believe. Some of the films which you listed in your original posting sadly are considered lost in Malaysia... This includes "Pontianak", "Dendam Pontianak", "Pontianak kembali" and also the original "Orang Minyak". Of course, close to all of them are in Bahasa Melayu (spoken language) without any subtitles.
