Has anyone seen this? Is it a nice version with good quality or should I look elsewhere? Thanks.

Being as I am a rather recent Naschy-fan, I've never seen MARK OF THE WOLFMAN but I found a German VHS version offered by Amazon here: www.amazon.de/exec/obidos...27-1104013
Has anyone seen this? Is it a nice version with good quality or should I look elsewhere? Thanks. |

Hi,
it is the version published by ANOLIS-Edition Weg!and I bought it too. This label recently published the Mario Bava film "Blutige Seide" on DVD. I don't know much about international version and the quality, because my english knowledge isn't good. But I think you can buy this tape for this nice price. The quality is good, and the tape comes in a big box. It is the "ungekrzte deutsche Originalversion". And I think, there will be no german DVD release in the near future. P.s. : Other Naschy Tapes i own from ANOLIS : Die Todeskralle des grausamen Wolfes . I have an e-mail adress where you can buy this tape. Nacht der Vampire I love them all. So just buy them! |

taikonaut:
the video that you have actually is the uncut german theatrical version, it was shown (the print, not the video) when Paul visited the german filmclub Buio Omega (www.buio-omega.de) last october. Paul however stated that over 20 minutes were missing from this one (but he had not seen the movie for 30 years, so Im not so sure if he didnt exaggerate a little bit). But as Pauls Director`s Cut will quite surely never occur, its the best you can get. Actually seeng it on the big screen - it really is a very impressive movie. |

The German cut, which I've seen from a different source, is close to as complete a version as any other. There are brief scenes still missing (same as in the Spanish version) and that are found, surprisingly, in the severely cut FRANKENSTEIN'S BLOODY TERROR variant. Quite possible that more was filmed, but this material has not been seen since it was shot.
I would think that, yes, this is a very impressive film on the big screen. Mirek |
