I haven't good hopes that it's something different and better than the old OOP ANCOR BAY fullscreen edition.

This is listed on the absurd-page for more than a year, but I have given up hope that it is really coming. I think there was even a release date once, but I guess Dutch Filmworks has canceled the release. I tried to mail them, but the email address on their homepage wasn't working.

Sad news! Honestly I haven't yet understood why a film like this - important, beautiful and surely succesfull - isn't in the coming list of any DVD company, neither in US nor in Europe.
Is it a question of rights? or of price? |

SUCCUBUS, the version released in the US and on AB disc, was not prepared by Jess Franco but the producer Pier A Cammenici for export, he had the final cut and it was further altered and dubbed by Terry Vantell of Edit Rite Company for the 1969 release. It's certainly not a director's cut and it's shorter and may have a different montage and music cues than the German version which played in NYC simultaneously in 1969.
