I was thinking of LuisJ's nomination of Salma Hayek for most beautful woman in the world and after watching this recent film with her and also starring Colin Farrell, I thought these screencaps from the film might be nice. Oh by the way the film is entitled Ask the Dust. Didn't do so well in the theaters despite Eberts endorsements. This is based upon a novel by John Fante according to the dvd notes. It is a romantic tale of a would-be writer who travels to L.A. inorder to write, lust after blonde babes and become famous. He meets up with Salma Hayek, who is a lowly barmaid and also an illegal immigrant. The obligatory sparks fly and passion ensues towards a standard tragic ending. However standard issue this film may be in the story department and an obvious suspect for the chick flick list, I am going to pardon the film based on Salma's typically blustery performance as the mexican illegal looking for her future in the U.S.A. and the ambience created by director Robert Towne. This is a quiet film. One that almost plays out more like a stage drama than a sweeping Hollywood romance. Their is plenty of time for character development and attachment. Also features a moody, latin tinged score by Ramon Djawadi and Hector Perera. We all know how important a film score is to the overall appreciation of a movie. So when you are in the mood for a nice, little, romantic film try this one out. If for nothing more than to see two great scenes featuring the ever beautiful Salma Hayek in the buff.

well at least you have these screen caps as a keepsake, Luis. I am not that adverse to Colin Farrell. He is certainly is not the greatest actor in the world. My disdain is with executive producer, Tom Cruise. Now there's a turd that could use a flush.

yeah you can't rap a girl's interests for sure. Though they can rap yours and you need to take it. My wife adores that iranian actor who played the sheik in those crappy Brendan Fraser Mummy movies and also was the gigolo that Deuce Bigelow house sits for in the original Male Gigolo. She also loves the bad assed, macho, samurai with the long hair and long moustache from The Last Samurai. I have no idea what their names are. I am glad she gave up on Brad Pitt after he left Jennifer Aniston. That just pissed my wife off big time. Now I don't have to worry about seeing that puke fest Legends of the Fall again or 7 Days in Tibet. YEAH BABY!

Quote:Oh yes my ex-girlfriend would always give me a hard time because I was fond of Sandra Bullock. I don't have a problem with Brad Pitt although I don't care to watch any of his films (except for SEVEN) and I think he was a fool for leaving Jennifer Aniston then he hooks up with the freak Angelina Jolie. |

That first shot is beautiful. I missed this in the theatres, as we don't get much limited release films in this area, but I'll definitely make plans to seek it out on video.
