in this thread, i shall bravely chronicle my quest to see every zombie film ever made. here's where i'm at so far:
ZOMBIE FILMS A-Z
#
28 Days Later (2002)
animal rights activists accidentally release a deadly virus called "rage." Director Boyle claims the crazies in this film aren't zombies. whatever assh0le. the film that started the nu-wave zombie cycle
28 Weeks Later (2007)
far superior sequel to 28 Days Later
A
After Death (1988)
zombies VS mercenaries on a tropical island. very 80's with Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Jeff "The Gay Pornstar" Stryker
Alien Dead (1980)
a meteor crashes in Florida and turns the hicks into zombies. pretty decent stuff from Fred Olen Ray
All Souls Day (2005)
unwatchable crap with Danny Trejo
Astro-Zombies (1969)
lo-fi sci-fi about a machete-wielding zombie...thing. w/ Tura Satana and John Carradine
Automaton Transfusion (2006)
over-hyped piece of shitt emo zombie crapfest
B
The Beyond (1981)
surreal zombie fun from Fulci
Bio-Zombie (1998)
a semi-remake of Dawn Of The Dead from Hong Kong. worth seeing, but not exceptionally good.
Black Demons (1991)
Lenzi proves he still has it (as of 1991) with this story of undead slaves seeking revenge on whitey in South America
The Blood Eaters (1980)
John Amplas plays an FBI agent looking for pot growers in the Pennsylvannia wilderness. a plane sprays a paraquat-type herbicide on the plants, but has unfortunate side effects, like turning hippies into zombies. low budget, sorta creepy goreflick.
Bog Creatures (2003)
a team of JD archeology students (!) are hired to excavate some peat bogs, meanwhile the descendant of an Evil priestess has resurrected some Viking's dumped in the bogs hundreds of years ago. the zombies look pretty cool, almost Fulci-esque, but are given very little to do. if not for some gratuitous boobage early on, i'd swear this was made for TV
Bone Sickness (2004)
ambitious and well done DIY SOV zombie trash. obviously made by metal heads, but almost good enough to overlook their handicap.
Briandead (1992)
very stupid, though loved by all (but me) junk from Peter Jackson. the final massacre is very bloody and all, but god this movie is annoying.
Burial Ground (1981)
for me, the most perfect zombie film. no political messages, no "zombies as metaphor for the collapse of society", nobody is a hero, nobody lives. it's all about zombies munchin' people up.
C
Castillo De Mommias De Guanajuato (1973)
a Scooby Doo group of Luchadores battle an evil scientist and his army of zombies. the zombies/mummies are really nasty looking, and although they don't eat anyone, they do step on babies.
Cementerio Del Terror (1985)
Mexican zombie mayhem on Halloween night. two Medical students, in effort to impress their chicas, steal the body of a recently slain Satan worshiping murderer. one black magic ritual later, the dead are rising from their graves. obviously inspired by Michael Jackson's Thriller, but none the less highly entertaining. with Zombie Vet Hugo Stiglitz
Cemetery Man (1994)
great, artsy zombie film from Michele Soavi. Rupert Everett in a rare non "gay best friend" role, plays Francesco Dellamorte, caretaker at the Buffalora Cemetery. this particular cemetery has a problem with the dead coming back to life 7 days after they are buried.
The Child (1977)
Rosalie is a creepy little girl who hangs out in the graveyard and claims she can speak to the dead. spooky 70's horror, the zombies don't show up 'til the end, but they make a good show of it when they do.
The Children (1980)
a school bus runs through a cloud of toxic gas, turning every kid into a little zombie @!%!. not a great film, but at least you get to see lots of kids shot in the faces with shotguns
Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (1972)
if you can make it through the horrendous early 70's fashion, the hammy acting and the terrible pacing, you'll be rewarded with one of the best "zombies rising from their graves" scenes ever. the last half hour is really good
The Chilling (1981)
sick fucck porn star Jamie Gillis stars as a CIA agent investigating a group of neo-nazis, who turn out to be real Nazi's who are also zombies. nice atmosphere, and Gillis is actually a pretty good actor.
The Chilling (1989)
not to be confused with the movie that somewhat good. this movie consists of 95% padding, 4% stupidity (plot driven stupidity) and 1% cool zombies in rubber masks and mirrored jumpsuits. also Linda Blair and that beard guy
Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town (1989)
an early role from Billy Bob Thornton is all this turd will be remembered for
Cinque Tombe Per Un Medium (1966)
better known as Terror Creatures From The Grave, and is really more of a ghost story than a zombie film, but the ghosts do look like zombies, so...
City Of The Living Dead (1980)
classic Fulci. an evil priest hangs himself in a cemetery, thus opening the gates of hell and causing the dead to walk
The Corpse Eaters (1974)
an hour long Canuck Zombie feature that took me years to hunt down. beer drinkin, dope smoking Canadian "teens" decide to +%$% around in an old graveyard. one of the "teens" just happens to know some black magic rituals, and he accidentally raises the dead. really odd film with a Tales From The Crypt-style ending
Creatures From The Pink Lagoon (2006)
the first all gay zombie film? not particularly good, in fact kinda irritating but worth a watch just to be able to say you've seen it
Creature With The Atom Brain (1955)
a nice mix of Noir/Sci-Fi with a mad scientist creating an army of "Automatons," which is a fancy way of saying "zombies"
Curse Of The Screaming Dead (1982)
not as terrible as it's made out to be, but very slow going. nice weird vibe to it and fun to watch with a head full of cough syrup
D
The Dark Power (1985)
yeesh. Toltec Indian "zombies" terrorize ugly girls until an old fart shows up and defeats them...with a whip! full of lame sub-Three Stooges physical humor, but featuring one of the all time great screen face rippings
The Darkness (198?)
so, they're supposed to be Vampires, but they're very sloppy eaters and could easily be mistaken for zombies. a classic of "Metal head camcorder" cinema
Dawn Of The Dead (1978)
George Romero's classic. 4 people take refuge from the undead inside a shopping mall, but the dead aren't all they have to worry about
Dawn Of The Dead (remake) (2004)
an action packed brain dead remake, perfectly entertaining in it's own right
Day Of The Dead (1985)
the darkest entry in Romero's zombie cannon, with some amazing gore by Savini and crew
Day Of The Dead 2: Contagium (2005)
unwatchable
Day Of The Dead (remake) (2007)
very very silly and needless update. a flu-like virus turns people into zombies that climb around on walls like spiders
Dead and Breakfast (2007)
wow! a mix of zombie horror and comedy! whatever will they think of next? not just bad, this movie will PISS YOU OFF. a camper full of absolutely obnoxious characters played by terrible, ugly actors annoy you until zombies show up. i missed why, probably from all the fast forwarding. there's some gore, but who cares? oh, David Carradine is in it, and i hate him too.
Dead and Buried (1981)
somewhat reminiscent of Messiah Of Evil, with it's small coastal town setting and creepy zombiefied citizens. atmospheric and suitably gory, but sorta muddled
Dead Clowns (2003)
surprisingly good for a movie about zombie clowns. seems some 50 year past, as the residents of a coastal town battened down for a hurricane, a tug boat crashed into a railroad bridge just as a circus train passed over head. yes, that is an awful lot of coincidence. anyways, the clowns from the train were never rescued and their bodies never recovered. come present day, and the clowns have risen from their watery tomb to extract vengeance on the town. the clown zombies are actually pretty well down (although the masks are recycled often) and it's all surprisingly played for tension and scares more than lame jokes and excessive (read: Boring) gore
The Dead Hate The Living (2000)
my pick for the worst zombie film of all. stupid plot, bad acting and groanably stupid dialog that drops more names than Quentin Tarantino. i hate it so much.
Dead Lands: The Rising (2006)
crap.
Dead Life (2004)
goofy junk, but somehow i watched the whole thing. i guess that counts for something.
Dead Meat (2004)
Irish zombies? pretty decent attempt with good pacing and not too terrible acting
Dead Moon Rising (2007)
plays like Saved By The Bell with zombies, only shittier. failed the 15 minute test (if nothing remotely interesting happens, or if something extremely annoying occurs within the first 15 minutes, YOU FAIL and the movie gets shut off)
The Dead Next Door (1988)
8mm zombie comedy. the Zombie Squad protects the living from the hoards of zombies who have taken over America, but now they have to deal with a tree huggin pro-zombie cult
The Dead Pit (1989)
there's like, this gateway to hell under a mental hospital. i don't remember, but it was entertaining.
Death Dream (1974)
Bob Clark's Monkey's Paw variant has a soldier return from 'Nam after his parents are told he was killed.the boy ain't the same, and needs blood to keep himself from rotting away. scary stuff with early Savini effects
Demons (1985)
zombie/demons invade a movie theatre
Demons 2 (1986)
zombie/demons invade an apartment building
Diary Of The Dead (2008)
heart-breakingly terrible film from George Romero
Dr. Blood's Coffin (1970)
a doctor invents a serum that brings the dead back to life. there's only one zombie in the whole movie, but he's pretty cool lookin
Down To Hell (2002)
a dry run for the film Versus from the same director. a mix of The Most Dangerous Game, Predator and Evil Dead. only 45 minutes long but better than Versus...still not great tho.
E
Erotic Nights Of The Living Dead (1980)
a zombie porno with horrible porn, but surprisingly good zombies scenes
Evil (2005)
the first Greek zombie film. a pretty fun 28 Days Later knock off with lots of action, sexy ladies and some good gore. GREAT final scene too
F
Fido (2006)
this high-concept film is set in the 1950's where man has won the zombie war and invented mind controlling leashes that allow man to use zombie for domestic labor. Billy Connelly is great as Fido
Flesh Eater (1988)
plotless trash from Bill Hinzman (the cemetery ghoul from Night Of The Living Dead) on Halloween, a farmer uncovers a sealed tomb on his property. he opens it up, and out pops a zombie. what follows is basically a string of more or less unrelated scenes of zombie carnage with a Halloween setting. i watch it every year for Halloween
Flesh Freaks (2000)
with it's abysmal IMDB rating and that it was put out by Sub Rosa, i wasn't expecting much. maybe that's why i liked it? the acting is pretty bad, the plot somewhat confusing, but Flesh Freaks is one of the very few recent zombie films, SOV or not, that actually tries. there's no comic relief, no 25 year old guys covered in tattoos playing the mayor, no death metal soundtrack. the camera work is pretty stylish, and the location footage of South America is very Jess Franco-esque. not a great film by any stretch, but by far one of the best of the bunch
Flight Of The Living Dead (2007)
Snakes On The Plane with Zombies. very low brow, very entertaining.
The Fog (1980)
zombie pirates come to reclaim their gold in this Carpenter film that tries hard but doesn't quite make it
G
Garden Of The Dead (1974)
prison inmates get crunked up on Formaldehyde. after a prison escape attempt, the formaldehyde-heads are shot to death, only to return as zombies. good 3am viewing, only running about an hour
The Ghost Galleon (1974)
the worst of the Blind Dead Series, set on a boat and with terrible effects
The Ghouls (2003)
relentlessly sleazy, depressing, mean spirited and scummy LA-shot curio. the film follows a Mondo-like videographer as he runs around chasing ambulances and filming rape and murder for a living, in between chain smoking (cigarettes and crack). during one drunken binge he thinks he sees a group of bums raping a woman-but the bums turn out to be sewer dwelling cannibals and the rape turns out to be eating intestines. the acting is really good for something like this-including Joe Pilato of Day Of The Dead fame. if you can over look a few boom mikes and light stands, a pretty interesting movie.
Grapes Of Death (1978)
Jean Rollin directs this haunting story where anyone who drinks wine contaminated with pesticide becomes a zombie. very gross gore, but overall pretty high class
H
Hell Of The Living Dead (1980)
a personal fave. a team of commandos are sent to New Guinea to investigate an accident at a chemical research center. along the way they must battle both zombie and cannibals
Hell's Ground (2007)
this Pakistani outting isn't completely zombie filled, and really after the big set up the 4 zombies are a bit of a let down. it is really fun and gory, so you won't feel cheated.
Horror Express (1972)
A frozen yeti turns a train full of people into blank eyes zombies. very creepy, effectively using the setting-both the train itself and the frozen tundra it's traveling though. with Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Telly Savalas and Helga Line
Horror Rises From The Tomb (1973)
Paul Naschy stars in this classic. the Nasch and a group of friends head to his old country home where they are set upon by ghouls and ghosts
The House By The Cemetery (1981)
a 100 year old lizard-faced zombie lives in the basement of the house a family has just moved in to, and he loves to stab people up
House Of The Dead (2003)
hell, i liked it
House Of Seven Corpses (197?)
a film crew is shooting a horror movie in a creepy old house with a history of murder. there's seven corpses, but only one zombie.
I
I Drink Your Blood (1970)
hippies eat Rabies infected meat and go crazy. not really zombies and not really good.
I Eat your Skin (1964)
fun, trashy pre-NOTLD zombie film set on a Carribean island
I Walked With A Zombie (1943)
decent creaky old horror. nice atmosphere
Invisible Invaders (1957)
an invisible alien race invade earth and use corpses as shells. great stuff
Invasion De Los Muertos (1973)
a meteor (or something) crashes into earth and turns everyone into zombies. Mexican escape artist Zovek goes into action to save us, while Blue Demon stands around. Zovek died during the filming, so producers got Blue Demon in to pad the running time
J
K
Killing Birds (1987)
confusing weirdness with some neat dusty, cob webbed zombies popping up now and then
L
Land Of The Dead (2005)
Romero's come back film. flawed but good.
The Last Man On Earth (1964)
a strange disease has turned 99.9% of the World's population into vampires who act more like zombies than Bela. Vincent Price tracks them down and kills them during the day, and defends his home during the night
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974)
Spanish film starring Italians about zombies invading England. an experimental pest control device wakes up the dead. slow paced but a great payoff
The Living Dead Girl (1982)
toxic waste dumped into a tomb revive a dead girl. her best friend in life supplies her with the blood she needs to live. poetic, artsy stuff from France's Jean Rollin
M
The Mad (2007)
Billy Zane stars in this lame zombie spoof that tries really hard to ape Shaun Of The Dead without anyone noticing. Zane and his teenage daughter (along with Zane's bitchy new girlfriend and his daughters dopey boyfriend) pass through a hayseed county fair on the way to their luxury cottage. they decide to stay the night and "rough it." and they really do rough it when the townsfolk turn into ravenous cannibals after eating contaminated hamburger. a hilarious BJ scene and a semi-witty debate on what exactly constitutes a "zombie" are all this one has to offer
Mansion de Los Muertos Vivientes (1985)
Jess Franco's perverted take on the Blind Dead films follows a bunch of horny girls as they are molested and murdered by even hornier Templars. makes good use of it's off season hotel setting.
Mansion De Siete Mommias (1977)
silly Guanajuato Mummy hijinks
Meat Market (2000)
of of many hundreds of SOV zombie movies starring nothing but chubby goth girls, metal heads and tattooed punks, all under the age of 25.
Messiah Of Evil (1972)
creepy, arty and criminally neglected film about a woman who goes looking for her father and finds a town full of bleeding-eyed zombies.
The Midnight Hour (1985)
some kids steal some crap from a museum on Halloween and incur the wrath of a witch. with lots of zombies, some werewolves and the odd vampire. features a great vampire bite scene set to The Smiths 'How Soon Is Now?' made-for-TV movie starring lots of TV personalities, pretty goofy, but a nice Halloween movie
Las Mommias De Guanajuato (1972)
the first in the Guanajuato Mummy series with Mil Mascras, Blue Demon and Santo
Mortuary (2006)
goofy Tobe Hooper movie about a cursed Mortuary. or something.
Mulberry Street (2007)
here's a weird one. not because it's a movie about rat zombies, but because it's a really fudgin' good movie about rat zombies. an unexplained virus, spread from rats to humans turns people into blood crazed psychos. there's a lot of character development, but for once it wasn't too bad as the entire cast is really good, and you actually care about them. it's very well directed, effectively conveying the terror the characters are experiencing...it's almost as if this movie was some sort of bet: make a great film out of a retarded script.
Mutant (1984)
having a hard time recalling anything from this. there are some lame zombies and Wing Hauser
N
Neon Maniacs (1986)
i guess they're zombies. zombies dressed like the Village People who die when touched by water...but live in the Golden Gate Bridge-you know, the one over a massive body of water?
Night Of The Creeps (1986)
Alien slugs shoot into peoples mouths and turn them into zombies. much better than it sounds.
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
the classic film that set the rules that zombies films must adhere to
Night Of The Living Dead (remake) (1990)
harmless remake from Tom Savini. good in a 1990's VHS sorta way
Night Of The Living Dead 3-D (remake/re-imagining) (2006)
dogshit awful movie, but i got to see it in a near empty theater with two sexy girls and the 3D worked great
Night Of The Seagulls (1975)
creepy final entry in the Blind Dead Series. features an outsider-hating village, a Lovecraftian fish cult and of course, the Templars
Nightmare City (1980)
action packed, solidly entertaining zombie film from Umberto Lenzi. meatball-headed zombies tear through Spain in search of blood, one of my faves.
O
Oasis Of The Zombies (1983)
not that bad, but not exactly underrated. slow, but rewarding to the patient.
Ogroff (1983)
demented 8mm masterpiece from France. Ogroff is mask-wearing, axe-swinging killer who keeps a basement full of zombies. his new girlfriend accidentally lets them out and they terrorize the country side. did i say terrorize? well, they more sorta just walk around...
The Omega Man (1971)
Charleton Heston stars in this 70's update of The Last Man On Earth
The Outpost (2008)
buried in the action section at Best Buy, The Outpost is actually one of the best in the long series of Nazi Zombie films. a team of merceneries are hired to escort a man to an abandoned Nazi bunker. in this bunker the SS experimented with the "field theory" and that's a little too over my head to repeat. suffice to say, it makes nazis into zombies. the zombies in this one are all metaphysical and sh!t like the ghouls in Fulci's City Of The Living Dead. but don't get any ideas, cause they'll still stick you to a wall with a pick axe!
Ozone: Attack of the Redneck Mutants (1985)
a hole in the Ozone turns rednecks into mutants who attack...and puke banana pudding all over the place
P
Pathogen (2006)
a zombie movie made by a 13 year old girl. sure it plays like a zombie movie made by a 13 year old girl, but you gotta admire her dedication
Pet Semetary (1989)
kinda sorta almost good movie from the Stephen King book (i'm not a fan)
Pet Semetary 2 (1992)
gorier and dumber sequel
Plaga Zombie (1997)
one of the great backyard zombie movies, from Argentina
Plaga Zombie: Zona Mutante (2001)
even better follow-up to Plaga Zombie
Plague Of The Zombies (1966)
a zombie master uses ghouls to work in his mine
Planet Terror (2007)
a fantastic throw back to 80's gore flicks. a mysterious chemical is released into the air, turning most of the city into "sickos." an instant classic!
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2007)
a chicken restaurant is built on top of an Indian burial ground, and soon the place is overrun by chicken zombies. if not for the musical numbers, a damn fun movie
Q
The Quick And The Undead (200?)
years after the zombie plague spread across the globe, the government pays bounty hunters to kill zombies based on how many fingers they bring in. basically a boring western with zombies and terrible actors. the whole finger thing is just silly. most humans, therefore zombies, have up to 10 fingers. so when the hero of the film is double crossed and has his sack of fingers stolen...why doesn't he just cut off some more fingers? very boring and a chore to sit through, but shot on film for a change. *fun fact* the man character is played by a guy named Clint, but the goofy hardcore font makes it look like his name is "C-U-N-T"
R
Rabid (1977)
Porn Star Marylin Chambers "goes straight" in this Cronenberg film. Chambers is involved in a motorcycle accident near an experimental plastic surgery hospital. the docs there fix her up, but she develops a strange armpit tendril that need blood. everyone she feeds on turns into flesh crazed zombies and even Santa Claus isn't safe
Raiders Of The Living Dead (1986)
a patch work of several different films, none of them any good
The Rape After (198?)
a gross and deplorable HK black magic gross out with a fairly impressive zombie sequence
Raw Force (1982)
zombies, cannibals, titties, gore, Cameron Mitchell
The Re-Animator (1985)
a humorous take on the HP Lovecraft story with some nice gory stuff
[REC] (2007)
a GREAT film! a news show is doing a ride along with a fire crew. the crew responds to a call about an elderly woman acting erratic, and shitt goes downhill from there. seems a mutated strain of rabies is making the rounds, and the police seal off the building, trapping the survivors inside
Redneck Zombies (1987)
the first time i saw this one, i was tripping pretty hard on mushrooms at my then girlfriend/now wife's parents house at 2 in the morning. during the out-of-nowhere LSD zombie autopsy scene, her dad comes out into the living room and i'm forced to describe what's going on in the movie.
Resident Evil (2002)
first film version of the great video game series, and one of the first in the new wave of zombie films. i liked it.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
second in the series, featuring the least amount of zombies
Resident Evil : Extinction (2007)
third in the series, set in a post apocalyptic wasteland with some decent zombies and annoying character getting killed off quickly
Return Of The Blind Dead (1973)
the goriest and most entertaining of the Blind Dead films has the Templars sacking a village during a fiesta
Return Of The Living Dead (1985)
great horror comedy. punks vs zombies with James Karen and, Clu Gulagher and Don Kalfa with music by The Cramps and a bunch of generic punk bands
Return Of The Living Dead 2 (1988)
very stupid sequel
Return Of The Living Dead 3 (1993)
going in a different direction, this third entry is a lot more serious, but more over the top. Melinda Clark is a sexy bich and should be the poster woman for self-harm
Return Of The Living Dead 4: Necropolis (2005)
not as good as the first, much better than the second, about on par with the 3rd. ignore the gratuitous dirt bike scenes, some annoying characters (who get killed) and the terrible nu-metal soundtrack and this one's actually pretty fun. there is some humor, but not too much. it's pretty gory and "serious" for the most part. unlike the first few films where the zombies couldn't be killed even by decapitation, these zombies go down with a shot to the chest, or even a well placed roundhouse kick
Return of the Zombis (1973)
nice gothic setting, classic "heirs gather for reading of will" setup, black magic shenanigans, and GREAT looking zombies that don't show up until the last 10 minutes. Paul Naschy is great as the necrophiliac gravedigger.
Revenge of the Living Dead Girls
poisoned milk turns a trio of French ladies into zombies. the poison makes their faces all rotten and gross, but thankfully leaves their titties and bootays untouched
Revolting Dead (2003)
very very boring movie about a family of bickering grave robbers who steal a druid's amulet. the druid's daughter finds out about it a gets all Sabrina The Teenage Witch and raises the dead. not all of 'em, just a couple. there's a pretty neat slimy skeleton zombie puppet about 4 1/2 hours in, and a few fat boobies scattered around, but nothing worth sitting through the rest of it.
Robo De Los Momias De Guanajuato (1978)
more Luchadores VS evil scientists and their zombie/mummy minions
The Rising Dead (2007)
awful crap
S
SARS Wars (2004)
slapstick Thai remake of Demons 2. fun stuff.
Scarecrows (1988)
thieves hijack a bankroll and parachute into a deserted farm house where evil scarecrow zombies thingies kill them off. very scary, even with the ridiculous subject matter
The Serpent And The Rainbow (1988)
based on Wade Davis' book. a man researching voodoo finds the truth about zombies
Severed: Forest Of The Dead (2006)
thoroughly average zombie outing. some sort of tree juice turns loggers into zombies. watchable, but not anything special.
Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
probably the best mix of zombies and comedy from the people behind Spaced. see it!
Shivers (1975)
another "slug-like parasite turns people into zombies" movie. this time they don't feed on flesh, the just wanna get some sweet lovin. pretty disturbing, with Barbara Steele in a small role
Shock Waves (1977)
Peter Cushing keeps a troop of underwater nazi zombies on his deserted island. slow-paced but creepy
Slither (2006)
a fairly blatant rip off of Night Of The Creeps. a man finds a meteor and pokes it with a stick (apparently he never saw The Blob) and unwittingly becomes host to an alien parasite. soon little sluggy fellas are squirming around and turning the populace into zombies. has all the ingredients, but comes out somewhat bland
Special Dead (2006)
pretty damn funny zombie spoof set at a summer camp for the mentally retarded. most of the jokes work and the zombies are well done. there are problems, like the corny "comedic effect" music and some scenes go on way too long...but there's some sexy (non retarded) girls and frequent topless/upskirt shots. FYI, "Retarded" is once again the "PC" term
Sugar Hill (1974)
blaxploitation/horror combo wherein a foxy black mama uses voodoo and zombies to get her revenge against the mob for...something. probably killed her mother or got her sister hooked on dope. i forget. the zombies are great looking spider web covered guys
Swamp Zombies (2006)
from Brain Damage films, with their seal of mediocrity. somewhat watchable. a high school class on a field trip runs into a gaggle of zombies, while pornstar Jasmine St. Clair washes her fake boobies with lots of soap and UFC fighter Dan Sevrin kicks zombies in the face. features an inappropriate amount of fight choreography
T
Teenage Zombies (1959)
Jerry Warren, known chiefly for importing and ruining Mexican Horror films and directing the silly (but fun) yeti film Man Beast, directed this "zombie" outting. there's only a handfull of "zombies" and only one gets any screen time, but the movie does have an undeniable goofy charm and at 70 minutes is relatively painless to sit through
Tombs Of The Blind Dead (1971)
the blind dead are a group of Templar Knights, executed for heresy, who come back to feed on the blood of the living. possibly the creepiest zombies ever to grace the screen: eyeless skull with long beards wearing rotted monk's robes
U
Undead (2003)
lame Aussie zombie movie with awful CGI and irritating characters. no surprise since all Aussie movies suck.
Undead or Alive (2007)
yes it has Chris Kattan, but it's still pretty decent. set in the old west, where Geronimo has put a curse on the white man. this curse turns men into flesh eating monsters that can only be killed by decapitation. Kattan and his partner join up with Geronimo's niece (piece of ass Navi Rawat) as they're hunted down by a zombiefied posse. really funny in spots with some decent gore (and shitty CGI) with Brian Posehn in a great zombie role
Una De Zombis (2003)
bizarre horror-comedy from Spain. a man and his friend set out to make a zombie movie while being harassed by real zombies. featuring Santiago Segura
V
Vengeance of the Zombies (1972)
Paul Naschy plays about 40 roles in this film about an evil scarred Mystic creating an army of sexy zombie ladies
Versus (2000)
overrated gun-fu zombie crap
The Video Dead (1987)
a cursed TV releases a small group of zombies (one looks like Let's Dance-era David Bowie) though obviously meant as a comedy, i thought it was kinda creepy despite itself. a staple of VHS, but not yet on DVD
W
White Zombie (1932)
surprisingly good early zombie film with Bela Lugosi. pretty creepy with only a slight lull in the middle stretch
Wild Zero (2000)
very fun film with a great soundtrack. aliens turn the population into zombies, and the band Guitar Wolf saves the day
Z
Zeder (1983)
boring pretentious film about special zones where the dead can return to life. the dead don't really do anything though, nor does anything else of interest occur
Zombie (1979)
one of the best. a woman and a reporter go looking for her father on an uncharted desert island. the island has been overrun with the living dead. with some of the greatest zombie make-ups and some great gore
Zombi 3 (1988)
maybe the worst of all Italian zombie films, very goofy, very uneven, awful music
Zombio (1999)
Brazilian zombie silliness. a couple soaking up the sun run into some random zombies (one has really long obviously fake arms for no apparent reason) and a zombie queen. the climax features a monster than is equal parts HP Lovecraft and Super Mario Brothers. blissfully short at about 25 minutes
Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence (1991)
Andreas Schnaas "directs" this SOV gorefest. a plane load of bad stuff crashes in the forest, leading to the resurrection of the dead. two doctors take it upon themselves to squelch the uprising. a bad enough film on it's own merits, Zombie 90 was dubbed into English by the funniest people in the world. the tall, lanky and very white doctor is dubbed to sound like a jive talking black pool hustler from 1974 and says stuff like "imma run this muthafuckas dick ova" and punctuates every sentence with "dayum"
Zombie Bloodbath (1993)
Todd Sheets, metal head film maker from KC poops out a living dead turd. a must see if only for the jaw dropping performance of Mr. Jerry Angel
Zombie Bloodbath 2: Rage Of The Undead (1995)
the "best" of the lot featuring and even more goofball Jerry Angel role
Zombie Bloodbath 3: Zombie Armaggedon (2000)
Todd tries way too hard with this one, and no Jerry Angel!
Zombie Campout (200?)
another piece of %+$! SOV zomber, with a few changes to the formula; instead of metal heads, this one was made by Bros. instead of chubby goth girls, we get Yoga Instructors. best of all, they actually use some real squibs. the fast forward button WILL be needed, but there's some nice flesh on display and a few decent effects scenes
Zombie Christ (2001)
if they'd played it straight, this story about Jesus' resurrection as a zombie might have been pretty good. sadly, like most longhairs with camcorders, they think they're soooooo funny. sacrilegious, yes, but you almost get the feeling that this is some odd Christian propaganda device-spreading the word of the lord to gore loving burnouts
The Zombie Chronicles 3D (2001)
a nice disc to have if you have a field-sequential set-up, but not if you like good movies.
The Zombie Diaries (2007)
beats Romero to the punch, and does a better job with the same concept as Diary Of The Dead
Zombie Genocide (1993)
one of the better DIY camcorder zombie movies made by three kids in Ireland
Zombie Gore (2003)
blatantly retarded Dutch zombie film swiping from Andreas Schnaas (of all the things to swipe from!) almost brilliant in it's utter disregard for continuity, linear story telling, craftsmanship and cohesion. a quick run down of events: a guy taking a pee finds a corpse, then two special agents are sent to arrest Dr. X, they give up.a metal head in a black wig is injected with a serum that makes him act stupid, and Dr. X cuts his face off. a man doesn't like his sandwich. and runs over a zombie . he changes his clothes. a zombie shoots a fake machine gun for a full 3 minutes, wearing the black wig from earlier. then another zombie, played by the same actor and wearing the same wig hides under a sheet. then we take a break to watch death metal band "Maggots" play an entire song in a bar. there's a sword fight, and that one guy turns into a puff of smoke. a mom, played by the same guy that plays 50% of the zombies (and wearing the wig AGAIN) makes soup for her son. Dr X and two guys fight each other with fireballs like Street Fighter 2. Dr. X has to take a pee (the film comes full circle) and is eaten by a not really giant, but pretty damn big (and fake) ant. THE END....?
Zombie Holocaust (1980)
classic/goofy zombies vs cannibal savages with lots of great gore and nudity, often at the same time!
Die Zombiejager (2007)
another mysterious plague revives the dead. the police call in "Die Zombiejagers" a team of zombie killers. one guy looks like Al Jurgenson from Ministry. tries really hard at the comedy and not at all with the horror. it's no Operation Dance Sensation
Zombie Lake (1981)
a poignant tale of a father's love, a love which transcends death. and green faced Nazi zombies biting girls on the titty. with graphic gynecological shots of vag.
Zombie Nightmare (1986)
a baseball bat swinging ghoul takes revenge on the kids that killed him
Zombie Night (2003)
unwatchable
Zombie: The Resurrection (????)
yet another SOV zombie movie from Germany . this time the random string of zombie attacks is accompanied by an R&B/Smooth Jazz soundtrack. a relatively painless 45 minutes
Zombie Strippers (2008)
overlook the bad puns and sub Denis Miller political humor (Bush is apparently stupid?) and you got a pretty funny, gory and sexy little flick. a crack commando squad is called in to clean up a zombie outbreak in a lab, but one of the soldiers is bit, and fearing for his life, flees and hides out in a strip club where he bites a stripper (Jenna Jameson) the zombie-fied stripper turns out to be a cash cow and soon the other girls are lining up to get bit. Jenna Jameson knows her way around a stripper pole, but sadly, due to her recent plastic surgery overkill, she looks better after she becomes a zombie. Roxy Saint, a singer for some band i've never heard of is even hotter. with a Robert Englund and a hilarious cameo from Tito Ortiz as a pusssy, chicken-shitt bouncer
Zombies Of Mora Tau (1957)
zombie pirates guard a sunken treasure off the North African coast. a fun saturday morning watch.
Zombie Wars (2006)
plays like a feature length episode of Xena The Warrior princess with zombies, but set in the mythical future instead of the mythical past. and with a lower budget
