Ok inspired by Mirek starting a Paul Naschy Film Database I figured why not do one for El Santo, I actually thought of doing this for over a
year but have been too lazy to do it so I will now begin one and any help others can contribute will be gladly appreciated. It will take me awhile to get to
all of Santo's 52 films but I will start off in chorological order so bear with me and note I'm no film expert like Mirek or Dr. Ling but just a fan
with too much time on his hands. So here goes and hope this will beneficial to some of you guys.
FILMS OF EL SANTO
1958
SANTO CONTRA CEREBRO DEL MAL (Santo vs. the Evil Brain)

An official DVD
from Mexico by World Media Marketing with Spanish audio which includes option for either English and French subtitles, also available on bootleg
DVD-Rs with Spanish audio only and at least one boot has English subtitles most likely ripped from the Mexican DVD.
The US English dubbed version known as SAMSON VS THE VAMPIRE WOMEN was released on DVD by Beverly
Wilshire/Telefilms this apparently is an unauthorized release and of course the same goes for all the DVD-Rs of this K. Gordon Murray dubbing mess
where Santo was renamed Samson. Something Weird Video cancelled a DVD
double feature of the English dubbed version of this film along with another of Murray's English dubbing releases SAMSON IN THE WAX
MUSEUM but it appears some copies still ended up out on the market.
1963
SANTO EN EL MUSEO DE CERA (Santo in the Wax Museum)
An official DVD from
Mexico by Alter Films with Spanish audio with option for English subtitles, there's also a UK disc by Yume Pictures (official?) with Spanish
audio and English subs. A US DVD
release by Lions Gate pairs it with SANTO Y BLUE DEMON EN EL MUNDO DE LOS MUERTOS both films are in Spanish audio and without subs. Bootleg
DVD-Rs exist of both Spanish audio only and with English subtitles once again probably a rip of the Mexican DVD.
The US English dubbed version known as SAMSON IN THE WAX MUSEUM was released on DVD by Beverly
Wilshire/Telefilms this apparently is an unauthorized release and of course the same goes for all the DVD-Rs of this K. Gordon Murray dub. Something
Weird Video cancelled a DVD

Two official DVDs from Mexico one pressed by Videomax as part of their "Cine Mexicano" series with Spanish audio and no English subtitles, the second
is a resissue by World Media Marketing as part of the Santo Collection ("Coleccion Grandes Clasicos") series but unlike the previous 10 DVDs this one
offers no subs and in fact it features the same menu screen of the "Cine Mexicano" release with that series logo on the screen only the DVD's
cover art was changed to match it's "Coleccion Grandes Clasicos" series. A US DVD
was issued by VCI (official?) under the shorten title SANTO VS. LA INVASION DE LOS MARCIANOS (Santo vs. The Martian Invasion) with Spanish

English subtitles. A US DVD release by Rise
Above Entertainment (official?) also in black & white that has Spanish audio with English subtitles. Also on bootleg DVD-R in black & white
with Spanish audio and no English subs. A special note here back in 2006 it was announced that missing footage from the racy version of this film known as
VAMPIRO Y EL SEXO had been found and that it would be
edited into an also newly found English dubbed version of the film onto a DVD release by BCI with the icing on the cake that it would be in color too but to date nothing has
been issued and no news from BCI in over year.

Justice) as both films are presented in Spanish with English subtitles. BCI has issued this film on at least three other Double Feature or
Compilation Sets: In 2005 as
LUCHADORES ENMASCARDOS Double Feature with EL CASTILLO DE LAS MOMIAS DE GUANAJUATO (The Castle of the Mummies of
Guanjuato) both in Spanish without subtitles, in 2006 as LOS LUCHAORES
INVENCIBLES a six movie set in which all films are in Spanish without subs and in 2008 as CLASICAS DE LA LUCHA LIBRE another six movie set which I have not seen but I believe all the films (perhaps the same lineup as the 2006

films in chronological orders as IMDB is incredibly unreliable when it comes to dates of Mexican films.
