I guess I should trademark the name--and also Krimi Cafe while I'm at it.
What would you do if you were in my krimi shoes?

Krimi Corner -- Blog?! |

|
So I'm doing a bit of googling and I come across something that sounds very familiar--Krimi Corner. Now Krimi
Corner is the name of my German Edgar Wallace section at the Latarnia website and also the name of a zine I put out (one issue so far). It's a name I
thought up and have been using for years. But now this Krimi Corner is not my Krimi Corner. It's a new
blog run by Keith Brown of the blog Giallo Fever. Now I'm sure Keith is a good guy and all (and he does mention early on that he accidentally took the
Krimi Corner name without realizing where the borrowing came from), and it's a fine blog, but I'm really puzzled about this and what I should do. I
realize it may be novel to have two online Krimi Corners, and there were competing Edgar Wallace films in Germany once upon a time, so what the hell, but
still--couldn't the guy have at least named his blog Bryan Krimi Corner, if he had to use Krimi Corner?
I guess I should trademark the name--and also Krimi Cafe while I'm at it. What would you do if you were in my krimi shoes? Mirek |

Could just ask Keith to rename it. Could suggest he rename it Krimi Korner. Something to differentiate it from your Krimi thing. Trademarking might be a good
idea.

I understand the mistake, but he figured it out the same day he started the blog, so it would have been simple to change it. You can change the blog and domain
name whenever you want. I had a blog on there with pictures of my son to keep family and friends up to date. The blog was named after him, but as soon as my
daughter was born, I changed it to include both of their names. Giving the blog-master the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he wasn't aware you could change
it.

I contacted Keith, and he found out he could change the name and url of the blog, so he did. It's now Krimi-nality ( http://krimi-nality.blogspot.com/ ). Thank you, Keith. (A great name
for a Krimi blog, btw!)
And I urge folks to head over there, as it's really a fine blog that hopefully will grow. Mirek |

Glad to hear it worked out. It does appear to be a very nice blog.

I checked it out last night at home, and it is indeed a very well-done blog. Be interesting to see where it goes since it's rather new.

You have a remarkably proprietary attitude for someone who solicited money for something and then refused to deliver.
|

Latarnia |

? "Refused to deliver"? If you are talking about the Krimi Corner newsletter, the first issues were delivered to everyone who ordered.
(There's only one person that didn't get the first issue, but he knows I didn't cash his check, and has known this for a long time, and if he wants
to know the reason, he can identify himself here, and I'll be glad to tell him the reason.) If you ordered and didn't get the issue, tell me. If you
are waiting for future issues, there's an explanation on my site:
http://www.latarnia.com/krimi.htm ... that's been up for a few months, which reads: PLEASE NOTE: As of November 2008, I am debating whether to continue this series, as my time is limited and I have something else in mind, publishing-wise, that would possibly satisfy krimi fans. Monies will be returned on subscriptions if I decide not to continue with the zine. If I don't continue with the zine, monies will be returned, as stated. So stop the bs and come out of the woodwork and let me know what your problem is....? Mirek |

Nothing more from our guitar-playing friend, eh? Have you noted their ISP address? Chances are good they'll be back or have already been around under a
different moniker.

Yes, I have the IP address. And the silence is telling.

Well if the Twang is either Duane Eddy or Hank Marvin, they were always much more comfortable with instrumentals.

I still bring out that first issue every once and a while to reread. Wonderful stuff. Even if you only publish / print a new issue whenever you can or when the
mood strikes I would be happy.

Thanks, reddog. I have a second issue half-way done, but am not quite sure when I can complete it. It would be a good resource because it lists, with photos,
all the actors and actresses that played in more than one film in the Rialto krimi series, and offers up a few interesting facts about each.

Speaking of blogs and noticing things just when they're launched....
About a week ago I launched my own Krimi related blog @ http://krimifilm.blogspot.com/ and smugly thought I was the first Krimi blogger and only when I started trying to find names for it, discovered the Krimi-nality blog. Ah well, I hope there's room for two blogs devoted to that subject. ;-) |

Wonderful blog you have there, Holger. Splendid work! The next time I update my Krimi Corner section, I'll provide a link to it.

Thanks for the nice comments, Mirek. It actually originated over at the Yahoo Eurotrash Paradise group where for a while we were contemplating a Eurotrash
Primer. In the end nothing came of it, but I was left with a number of short, finished reviews, a couple of unfinished ones and tons of notes all over the
place. For the longest time I was annoyed that the info was only lingering on my computer until I decided to make it available to everyone through a blog.
