I just bought this, The Masterworks of the German Horror Cinema, at a used shop. It was $6.98. It looks like a nice set with 2 discs, from Elite Entertainment. It has The Golem, Nosferatu, and the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Mirek, did you do the liner notes in this?

The quality of the film presentations is not that good, however. THE GOLEM is really silent, from what I remember--with not even a musical score backing. Mirek

I started watching Nosferatu, which I have on a cheapy set, but it's off frame and the titles are hard to read. But you are right, I was expecting a much better print. Does one exist? It is rather tattered. Just imagine a pristine clear copy. You need some music to really enjoy a silent film.

I think there was a region 2 disc that came out recently that was supposed to be yet another improvement. Brant

The picture quality is the best on these two but some people are upset that the famous scene where Nosferatu rises from the coffin that his head is cut in half.(bad framing) Check out DvdBeaver to see some comparison shots.
