I watched Killer Barbys vs Dracula last night for the first time and found it a masterpiece. It's one of the most fun, colorful comic book films ever. The
polar opposite of Killer Barbys, which I strongly disliked. KB was cold and polished - KBvsD is colorful, warm and personal. KB had nudity and sex but it was
not sexy because of annoying characters. KBvsD is sexy even without nudity because it's feelgood and fun. Even The Killer Barbies themselves seemed to be
playing better music this time, pop instead of lousy punk rock. Great roles by almost everyone. Especially Dan van Husen needs to be mentioned. I think Franco
was making some kind of point with two Draculas - a fake Dracula who is this stylished gentleman of Hammer films and such. The real Dracula on the other hand
was bald and creepy, like count Orlok. Kike Sarasola slightly overdid his role in my opinion but I really liked Peter Martell as the fake Dracula.
Which brings me to my question; how did Martell end up having a role in this film? His bitter and introverted fake Dracula reminds me of what I have read about the real life Pietro Martellanza - a bitter and reclusive man who lives far away from other people. I was quite amazed to see his name in the opening credits.
