As I wrote in an email to Mirek, this exceeded my expectations. Cannot recommend it enough. Haven't had time to read it yet (until the kids go to bed), but I have thumbed through it and it looks excellent. Mirek, your layout skills are outstanding, as this magazine looks as good as any professional publication I've seen. I'm sure the content will be just as great. Great job.

Registered User Posts: 151 Dec 11 10 7:53 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	That's our great USPS , This isn't related to this magazine but I had to put my 2 cents in , I just received the other day a poster I won from Heritage Auction Galleries , The Return Of Count Yorga original movie poster I won for $1.00 + the auction fee of $15.00+ $8.00 for the shipping,well the poster was shipped out priority mail on the 3rd of Dec.Should of received it by the 6th, was following the tracing on the USPS website,everything going OK on the first 2 days then on the third day it showed the poster was in Atlanta Ga. ,It was sent from Dallas,TX, well I live in Kansas City ,MO. it should of gone straight north,but it didn't. So I called the P.O. they told me that it probably was sent to Atlanta because they couldn't read the address or something of that nature, or they said it could of been damaged.,so they took my info and faxed the info to the Atlanta Hub.Well guess what , the poster arrived on the 9th ,3 days past it should of been,and there was nothing wrong with the address or it wasn't even damaged,so I called my P.O. and told them all this,so I asked if I'm entitled to a refund on my shipping,they told me no, that they don't guarantee priority mail shipping ,only next day, what a bunch of crap.Your told it suppose to be 2-3 day shipping and it takes 6 days ,how is that priority mail.Something is wrong with that. Glad you got it! I have some experience with layouts and InDesign (the program used nowadays to create a magazine or a book), otherwise it wouldn't have gone as relatively smoothly as it did. Still, one never knows how something will turn out until it comes back from the printer. Mirek

I hope on Monday i can pedal over to the post office on my new bicycle and get my order out for this exciting release of issue #1. Indeed these are proud times to be a Latarnian! I believe Mirek's work speaks for all of us here and that makes me proud to be a member. Now if we can just get this magazine out on the racks at Borders and such! Smoke and a Coke!

Yeah, I hate when stuff gets damaged, I am OCD about stuff like that. If it's just the cover part, I'd bother me a bit, but it could be worse.

Registered User Posts: 3252 Dec 12 10 5:33 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	In response to FAMOUSMONSTERS62: Last year I ordered CASINO ROYALE on Blu-Ray from Amazon as a Christmas gift for someone and it had tracking on it. It disappeared off the tracking, while being followed. No one knew what happened to it. Amazon made me wait 30 days, then sent a replacement (they did overnight the replacement by UPS, I'll hand 'em that) a bit after after Christmas, and told me if the other one showed up, to send it back. Well, four months later, the original one sent actually does show up, with the packaging all mangled and the case punctured. Whoever invented the standard DVD case should be sent to a torture chamber.

What would also be cool would be a comparison between American edits of Spanish horror to the Euro Edits. I know we have had thereads about it in the past, but having a published reference source to turn to would be so awesome!!!

I like the cover a lot, it looks like something you would have seen in a 1960s Barbara Steele movie. Nice pictorial on Barbara as well; I like that images from AN ANGEL FOR SATAN, a film that I have only recently seen, were used, instead of the usual photos that we have all seen many times over in other magazines. Design and layout are very good too. The non-glossy paper made for easy reading, even with the smaller font size. Overall, a winner in my opinion. Hope to see many more issues. Congratulations! Ed

I'm taking a bit of a killing with the board and bagged thing, depending on how I package the item. After a certain weight classification, the Post Office makes things automatically Priority (which costs more) and slaps on further costs depending on distance. My feeling now is to send all issues bagged (to protect what happened to Ben's magazine) and to up the price for boarding by at least a dollar if not more. Mirek

As I indicated, there will be new rates now. Ordering info: USA: Cost of issue is $7.50, plus $2 first class shipping/handling and bagging for a total of $9.50. (Bagging should prevent what happened to Ben's copy.) Canada: Add .50, for a total of $10. Foreign: $11.50 total. If you want your magazine boarded, please add $2, but that doesn't guarantee that postal delivery will not find a way to bend it.
